Care For You By Night Tales (Music Video)

"Care For You" by NightTales was a meaningful project to bring to life. The artist reached out to me toward the end of Covid, wanting to create a music video for a song that held significant meaning for them during the uncertain times of 2020. They trusted me with full creative control to conceptualise and visualise the video.
I listen to the song a 100 times a day, not really but definitely felt that way. The song, constantly played in my mind, once it found a room in my head, rent free three key ideas kept coming back to me. First, expression through dance—using movement to convey raw emotion. Second, violence an idea that has always intrigued me due to its cause and effect. The aftermath of violence leaves an imprint on the soul, something that lingers. Third, the opposite of violence: love and tenderness. How do we cope when something or someone we once cared about is taken away? The mental toll can be immense, but through a shift in perspective, we can find strength to overcome and possibly heal. I decided to take an abstract approach to the visuals.
Ultimately, I wanted to merge these concepts, with dance acting as a force that leads the characters to find a moment of care either from themselves or from another. This was a passion project, and like most of my work, I took on multiple roles - Producer, Director, Cinematographer, and Editor. With help from the artists in sourcing extras and talents, and support from friends, this project came together and brought the vision to life.
